23 - THE PEOPLE

According to the United Nations Charter, the term “people” refers to a group of human beings who share a common identity, including language, culture and history, and who are considered the fundamental unit of society and are recognized as having the right to self-determination.

Why does ICEDAC USA take people into account?

Because, according to the UN, this guarantees the promotion and protection of human rights, including the rights of minorities and indigenous peoples.
Because the UN also encourages international cooperation to promote peace, security and sustainable development.

How do we do this?

By setting policies for governments on the establishment of effective, accountable and open institutions at all levels.
