25 - MENTAL HEALTH

Mental health refers to a person’s state of emotional, psychological and social well-being. It encompasses aspects such as stress management, interpersonal relationships, resilience, self-confidence and the ability to cope with life’s challenges. Mental health is important to a person’s overall well-being, as well as to their ability to function effectively in daily life.

Why does ICEDAC USA focus on mental health?

Because it contributes to a person’s general well-being, their ability to function effectively in daily life and their overall quality of life.
Because by looking after the mental health of its employees, an organization can foster a more productive and respectful work environment.
Because by raising awareness of the importance of mental health, we can help reduce the stigma associated with mental health problems and encourage people to seek help when needed.

How can we do this?

To promote mental health, organizations can encourage regular physical activity, which is beneficial to both mental and physical health.
Organizations can also encourage the practice of relaxation techniques such as meditation and yoga, which have been shown to help reduce stress and anxiety.
Organizations can offer employee support programs such as counseling and stress management resources, to help employees cope with the challenges of everyday life.
