8 - HUMAN RIGHTS COMPLIANT WORK

According to ICEDAC, work plays a major role in a country’s economic growth, but it must be decent, with gender equality as its cornerstone. Work that respects human rights is work that respects the fundamental rights of workers.

ICEDAC is committed to this,

Because Article 23 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that “Everyone has the right to work, to free choice of employment, to just and favourable conditions of work and to protection against unemployment.
Everyone has the right, without any discrimination, to equal pay for equal work.
To protect the dignity and rights of workers;
To maintain social peace.

How can we do this?

By making employers aware of the need to respect workers’ rights and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights;
By raising employee awareness.
