5 - GENDER PARITY

According to the UN, gender equality, in addition to being a fundamental right, is essential to the establishment of peaceful societies with full human potential and sustainable development. Laws are being reformed to advance gender equality, but many challenges remain, notably those discriminatory laws and social norms that remain omnipresent.

ICEDAC USA must take action to promote gender parity in the fight against poverty, by eliminating early marriage of young girls and promoting women to positions of responsibility.

How can we do this?

  • By getting young girls into school;
  • By combating sexist stereotypes;
  • by empowering women.
