20 - TERRESTRIAL ECOSYSTEMS
They are of vital importance to our planet. They provide food, oxygen, water and building materials, as well as regulating climate and biogeochemical cycles. Terrestrial ecosystems are also home to a great diversity of animal and plant life, which is important for our planet's biodiversity. Terrestrial ecosystems are biological systems formed by a variety of living beings that interact and live within a community where they are also shaped by the physical environment in which they live.
Why would ICEDAC USA want to protect the terrestrial ecosystem?
Because the terrestrial environment provides food, oxygen and regulates the planet's climate;
Because the terrestrial environment is home to a wide diversity of terrestrial life that is important to our planet's biodiversity;
Because science has proven the importance of protecting all terrestrial systems because they manufacture the other half of oxygen and also absorb the other half of carbon dioxide generated by anthropogenic activity.
How can we help?
ICEDAC USA will do this by implementing pollution reduction campaigns and supporting national and international policies and programs to protect the terrestrial environment;
Raising awareness of sustainable hunting reduction and waste sorting as an excellent solution to better protect terrestrial flora and fauna;
Raising awareness of behaviors that respect nature and other environmental factors.
